We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.

I have to say, as someone who is not a Christian, it’s hard for me to believe that Christians are persecuted in America. God-willing, maybe one of you one day will even rise up and get to be president of this country—or may be 44 in a row. But that’s my point, is that they’ve taken this idea of no establishment as persecution, because they feel entitled, not to equal status, but to greater status… Government hates religious organizations so much that it lets them keep $100 billion a year in offerings tax-free. Persecute my ass like that… You’ve confused a war on religion with not always getting everything you want. It’s called being part of society.
